Refacing for Milwaukee-area kitchens

Our showroom brings cabinet refacing in New Berlin, WI within easy reach of most of the Milwaukee area. New Berlin sits on the Milwaukee County line, a short drive from Brookfield, Muskego and Waukesha as well as West Allis and Greenfield.

Much of the suburban housing around Milwaukee went up in the decades after World War II: ranches, Cape Cods and split-levels with kitchens that are small by today’s standards but often solidly built. Refacing keeps those cabinet boxes and gives them new doors, drawer fronts, veneer and hardware.

The same approach works for newer homes in Waukesha County and for lake houses in Lake Country, where the layout is fine and the finishes are what’s tired. Read more about cabinet refacing.

Three kinds of Milwaukee-area kitchens

Different houses, different starting points. Here’s how refacing usually plays out in each.

  • Compact galley kitchen with white cabinets and a window over the sink

    Post-war ranches and Cape Cods

Compact kitchens with little room to spare. New doors, veneered frames and pull-out organizers make the space work harder without changing the footprint.

Common in: West Allis, Greenfield, Wauwatosa, New Berlin

  • White kitchen with a large island, upholstered stools and pendant lights

    1980s–2000s suburban homes

Bigger kitchens, often with oak raised-panel doors on sturdy boxes. A new door style and color, soft-close hinges and an added or refaced island change the room in 3–5 days of installation.

Common in: Brookfield, Muskego, Franklin, Oak Creek, Pewaukee

  • Warm wood cabinets around a white island with pendant lights

    Lake Country homes

Homes around the lakes range from older cottages that have been added onto to larger, newer builds. Refacing brings cabinets from different additions into one consistent look.

Common in: Pewaukee, Delafield, Hartland, Oconomowoc

How it works across the Milwaukee area

  • We come to you

Designers bring door samples, finish swatches and hardware to homes from Mequon to Kenosha. The free consultation takes about 60–90 minutes and ends with a written, itemized quote.

  • A timeline you can plan around

Doors and veneer are made to order, about 4–6 weeks from final measure. Installation of a typical kitchen then takes 3–5 days.

  • A kitchen you can still use

No demolition. The sink and appliances stay connected unless countertops are being replaced, and the work area is cleaned every day.

  • One project manager

The same person handles your measure, scheduling and final walk-through, so you always know who to call.

New Berlin cabinet refacing questions

Have a question we didn’t answer? Call (630) 555-0140 or send us a note.

Do you charge to come out to Racine or Kenosha?

No. In-home consultations are free and without obligation in Racine and Kenosha, just as they are across Milwaukee and Waukesha counties and in Mequon.

Is a 1950s ranch kitchen a good candidate for refacing?

Often, yes. If the cabinet boxes are sound, refacing gives them new doors, veneer and hardware and leaves the walls and floors alone. Your designer checks the boxes during the consultation.

Can you reface cabinets in a Lake Country home with several additions?

Yes. Refacing puts one door style and finish on every cabinet, so cabinets added at different times end up looking like one kitchen. Individual cabinets can also be added or replaced.

Can I replace countertops at the same time?

Yes. Countertops are templated once the cabinets are refaced, stone takes about 7–10 days to fabricate, and installation takes about a day. A new sink and faucet can go in then too. See countertops.

Do you work in the city of Milwaukee, not just the suburbs?

Yes. We work in houses, duplexes and condos in Milwaukee as well as the surrounding suburbs. If you’re in a condo, share your building’s rules with your designer.
